Full Job Description
Reporting to; Finance Manager
The position holder will be responsible for working with the entity’s finance manager to help fulfil its financial accounting, reporting, general accounting, Cash flow, some tax fillings, weekly cash flow/ bank reconciliation and payroll / COGS file obligations through;
Key Tasks and responsibilities
Sales and purchase ledger accounting including direct responsibility for accounts receivable- billing, payment receipts, banking and collection calls, Accounts payable including receipt and entering of accounts payable items, their payments, and reconciliations.
Cash flow planning including requesting for and confirming cash wires from the sales ledger financing company, balancing payroll, AP, and other cash flow commitments for the business
Payroll including reconciliation of payroll hours with Operations, ADP payroll, processing of pay slips, emailing and or posting of pay stabs and issuing of pay checks.
Payees, WSIB records preparing, filling and appropriate tax payments with CRA.
Maintenance of records and fillings of documents and query handling of all accounts related issues and trouble shooting
Month end accounting including preparing of the business financial reports for income and expenses, monthly operational statistics, and forecasts
Fees estimates bi- weekly for management to review trends
Weekly and monthly bank reconciliation as part of the cash flow planning
AOB as may be assigned by management
Qualification and experience
Graduate Diploma in accounting and or Part qualification with a professional accounting designation
At least two years’ experience with in a first moving accounting environment dealing with high volume transactions, general accounting and problem-solving skills.
Advanced MS excel skills including VLOOK up, running macros, conditional If’s and Pivot tables.
Exceptional organizational skills, time planning, attention to detail, ability to multi – task , work under pressure and a proactive mind set are all assets.
- Accounting: 2 years (preferred)
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Starting salary $45-50K per year or a commensurate hourly rate
